how can i get candle wax out of a carpet

Place a paper towel over the wax, then iron it on low setting. The wax should lift right off.

place some absorbant kitchen paper over the wax, then with a hot iron iron over the kitchen paper. the wax will melt and the paper will absorb it.

try brown paper and the iron on a low setting keep moving and lifting the paper.
