how do i clean carpet dye off lino

i had a floor mat infront of the kitchen sink which when taken away has left a burgundy square on the beige, and yellow lino...urgently need help. i have rented this place for 6yrs and they are saying this is not fair wear and tear and they want to keep my bond....don't ever get a private landlord....from now on i'll go through an agent....can the carpet stain be faded or removed??????
