how do i remove olive oil spots from clothing? | |
i use olive oil and vinegar as a sald dressing and occasionally drop a spot onto my shirt. i've never been able to remove it successfully. can you give me a suggestion?

speaking as a professional drycleaner, take it into the drycleaners. any type of oil based stain typically comes right out when it's in the drycleaning machine. however, if for some reason it doesn't, a drycleaner has access to a variety of spotting agents that are more effective than what the average person is able to get a hold of.

i spilled olive oil on my knit shirt while cooking last night. i put dawn liquid detergent on the oil spot then soaked it in very hot water for about an hour. just before putting it into the washer i scrubbed it with my hands. it removed every bit of the oil spot.
